christmas ornaments...

One of the neat traditions that came into our marriage from the Jordan family was the giving of christmas ornaments. When we got married Travis' mother gave us a box of all of his ornaments for us to put on our own family tree. I thought this was the greatest idea. So every year the kids recieve a new ornament. I try to have it reflect who they were the past year. This year we found the perfect ones. Noah's is a big yellow school bus. He loves to ride the bus! Zachary's is a laptop. He can sit and play Play House Disney or pbskids.com all day. He knows how to use the touch pad better than I do! Bailey's is a little brown haired girl in a ballet costume. She got some dress ups from her Grandma J and she loves to wear them. We even found her asleep with them on. This is a tradition that I just love and thought I would share with you all!

Carol of the Bells

Our family has found a new tradition!! Someone in my ward told me about this house in Pleasant Grove that has it's lights hooked up to a computer with it's own radio station. I looked it up at www.holdman.com and decided that this was a must for our family night. The lights dance to about 6 different songs. We drove up there, tuned into the special radio station that you can only listen to with in 300 feet of the house, and watched!!! It was AMAZING!! The kids sat unblinking for about 20 minutes! If you live in the area I highly recommend making the trip. The videos are nothing like seeing it in person, but check out two of my favorite songs:

Jingle Bells

Breath taking, isn't it????!!!

great night...

Last night Travis and I had a really neat opportunity. We were given 4 tickets to see the play Savior of the World at the conference theater, and encouraged to invite our next door neighbors Sandra and Paul to attend with us. Our neighbors are not members of our faith and I was really nervous. We are good friends and have talked about almost everything, but not religion. I don't even know what, if any, religion they believe in. Travis asked them last weekend and they said YES!!! What a wonderful experience! It was so great to sit and watch a 2 hour play about the life and ministry of our Savior with them. Also, what a great time of year to attend the play! When we were walking back to the car Sandra said, "That just put me in the Christmas spirit!" I feel the same way. Sometimes I forget what this time of year is really all about! The Savior spent his life teaching us how to love and serve one another. Love and service is what this time of year is all about, and is a universal language that crosses all religions. It was a powerful experience for me. One that I will not soon forget! Happy Holidays!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Besides a few snow flurries this was the first major snow of the winter! The kids were so excited to get all geared up and out playing. Bailey didn't last very long, but had fun too!
