"Mom! I'm 4!"

Max is 4!!  When Max woke up this morning he came down stairs to our room and our conversation went like this:

Us: "Happy Birthday Max!"
Max: "It's my birthday?"
Us:  "Yes, go out and look at the decorations.  It is all for you!"
(the decorations have been up all week since Noah's birthday.  all I did was switch out the picture from Noah to Max)
Max ran out to look at the decorations and saw his picture.  He screams: "ITS MY BIRTHDAY!  I'M 4! I'M 4!!  (running upstairs) GUYS COME LOOK AT MY DECORATIONS...I'M 4 GUYS I'M 4!"

Max has been so excited to turn another year older.  He is at such a fun age.  Anyone else might have been underwhelmed by the lack of new decorations, but not our Max...Once he knew that those were now "his" decorations he was just as excited as if he was seeing them for the first time!

The day before his birthday I took him and Owen with me to the store.  It soon dawned on me that this would probably be my only opportunity to shop for his present.  When we walked into the store he said: "Mom all I want for my birthday is some slippers and a Dream Light!"  I laughed and told him that we were there to pick up stuff to make his birthday cake and that we would just look at the toys.  Little did he notice I was quickly sticking his picks under the cart.  With the help of a quick-to-pick-up-on-the-secret cashier I was able to distract him and make the purchase with him just inches away!

Here is Max showing off his new Spider Man slippers.

Max was also super excited to blow out his candles.
(Can you spot the hidden "4" on the cake?)

Max has such a fun loving personality.  He is quick to giggle and smile, but also has a stubborn streak.  He loves to play with Owen and is usually really good and sharing.  He has a willing and eager to please spirit!  We love our sweet Max and can't picture our family with out him!

my baby is 11...

I can't believe that Noah is 11 years old!
Yesterday Noah went with Travis to work all day long!  He rode the bus there and back.  While there they walked to the Jazz store and he got to pick out his birthday present.  He really wanted a Jazz warm up jacket and a pair of jazz shorts.  He was so excited to wear them today!

He chose to go to Kneaders for his birthday dinner and then we came back and opened the present from my parents.  He was excited to watch the Jimmer movie and wear his cozy pants.

I just look at these pictures and think: "where is my baby!?"  Noah is tettering between boy hood and teenage hood...kinda scary, but he is such a sweet and tender hearted kid.  He is so quick to help me when I  ask and even when I don't.  He is so thoughtful and kind.  I just love him so much!
