scrapbooking...

I am 2 years behind in scrapbooking right now. For 2007 and 2008 I have all the pictures already printed out so I feel the need to "scrap" them instead of doing it digitally. For 2009 I decided to go ahead and start the year all digital! So far...I am all caught up! Waahooo! Now I just need a few solid days to sit and scrap 07/08 and I will be sittin pretty. I am still really really new at the digital part, but these are 3 pages I have tried without using a template. Man I love this stuff!

Apple Picking...

OK, I don't post on the blog very often...however, I just had a "cute moment" with Bailey and I had to share it! When I was tucking her into bed tonight, she looks at me and says, "Dad...I love picking apples from trees", I thought this was an interesting comment since we don't have any fruit trees and I don't think that she has ever picked apples. She then said, "Dad, can we go apple picking together some time?" I chuckled and said, "Sure, that sounds like fun." She then demonstrated how you pick an apple from a tree and said, "you just twist...and pluck, and THAT's how you do it!" It is truly these small moments that make our life magical!

fun with photoshop...

I am having soooo much fun!!! My parents gave me Photoshop Elements for Christmas. Combine that with my new camera a Canon Rebel XS and I am in heaven. My neighbor is a wiz at both taking great pictures and editing them in photoshop. After one lesson I feel like I am slowly getting the hang of it. I think I will be pestering her with questions for months. I am ready for lesson #2!!

the binky launch...

Max isn't really a huge binky baby. He usually likes it when he is really tired. We have discovered that he has a cute little talented way of ridding himself of his binky when he doesn't want it! We lovingly refer to it as the binky launch!

whats a girl to do...

I am a computerless woman! My new computer should be here any day, but for now I only get to check email and such in the evenings when Travis brings home his work computer. I hate not being able to google or look up a thought during the day. I didn't realize how much I do this until access to the internet was gone. So I will post pictures once I get my new computer.

Our FHE topic for this month is Charity and Love. On Monday after talking about love I presented a Love idea to the kids. Each of them would receive 6 "i love you" hearts. They are to use these hearts this week to do something nice like make someones bed, put someone elses shoes away, clean up some toys etc... and then they leave one of their hearts behind. At first I was going to make the hearts out of paper, but I found some really cute 6 inch foam hearts in a pack of 30 at walmart and figured making them out of something sturdier we could reuse them each year. I then used a fine point black pen to write "i love you" on each one. They turned out really cute! It has been so fun to see how excited the kids have gotten over the idea of doing nice things. Today Noah cleaned up Bailey's messy room. He even set up her doll house putting all of the furniture in the right place. He then left his heart displayed in the doll house! Bailey tidied up the boys room and left a heart. Zach made my bed (which really ended up being made already, but he cleared off everything else that was on it and put it in a pile on the floor. Hey...it's the thought that counts!) I love seeing my kids doing nice things for each other!

I also got a new camera!! It is a SLR Canon Rebel. My head is just swirling with new terms. Aperature, shutter speed, IOS....I can't wait until I understand how to use it to it's fullest and take some great pictures! I have always wanted to learn and I am just thrilled that now I have a chance!

I promise to catch up with pictures soon!!

fun day...

The kids didn't have school yesterday so a friend and I took our kids to Kangaroo Zoo. It is a fun jumpy house filled with all sorts of fun blowup things. It is so great to have kids old enough that I feel comfortable letting them run around without hovering over them!

Bailey, Gage, and Josh

This big Croc slide was Bailey's favorite. Once she discovered that she could climb up the stairs in the back she spent most of her time going down the slide over and over!

Another one of her favorites was a blow up pond with all sorts of animals and creatures!

This is one of the few pictures I could get of the big kids. They spent most of their time on these huge tall slides.

While we were there Noah comes running up to me with blood running down his chin and says, "Mom my tooth fell out!" Don't worry it was a tooth that has been loose for months! Now he has a fun story to share today at school about how he lost his tooth!

He was excited to get out the tooth fairy pillow and leave it at the end of his bed last night! I made this pillow last year. I used the exact same pattern that my mom used to make one for me and my sisters when we were little.

After the Kangaroo Zoo we went back to our friends house to have lunch and tie dye shirts. The idea at first was to have the kids do them, but Katie and I quickly realized after I dyed my fingers black that the kids should probably just watch. Neither one of us had ever tie dyed shirts before so we were nervous about how they would turn out. I think that they turned out great!

I tie dyed a little undershirt for Bailey!

Now I finally have a yellow shirt for her to wear these cute clips with. I think I was given these clips at her baby shower. I don't know why I haven't bought anything yellow before!

rootbeer floats...

Our home teacher brought the stuff to make rootbeer floats. For some reason my kids have never had rootbeer floats. As we were all sitting eating them I hear Zach lean over to Noah and say: "Noah, this is the life!" Travis and I just busted up. He is such a funny kid!

Zach loves to hug and kiss Max...sometimes a little too much! Even though he can smother him, I love that he loves Max so much!
