Oh boy what a whirlwind of a time it has been the last month or so...time to play catch up I guess! I fell down the stairs and broke my tail bone and also did something to my shoulder...I haven't been to the doctor yet, but I think my shoulder needs to be seen...My kids like to say that I broke my bum...yup...kinda did! They say it can take up to 6 months or more for it to heal...fun huh?
The hole for our home should be dug on Wednesday!! Yea!! Words cannot express how excited we are!
Zach turned 9 the beginning of April and also got glasses. You can see him in them in the Easter scrap page I posted a while ago...he also started taking Karate. To earn his belt he had to break a board...and break it he did! He is so excited!
Last Tuesday Travis and I headed out with a group of friends for a wonderful week sans kids on a house boat at Lake Powell. Oh the heaven that can be found when you can completely relax and be together! It was so great. The weather was beautiful. Perfect temperature! The water however was another story...it was SO cold it took your breath away.
Travis mastered getting up on the wake board and loved it!
A bunch of brave ones decided to do a little jumping...maybe when my tailbone is healed I will do it next year!
We drove home last night and then drove over to my sister Jenny's to join the group for dinner. My parents had the kids there and we were having dinner in a park. About 20 minutes after we arrived and greeted the kids Noah took a bad fall on the playground and busted his arm...we splinted it with a flip flop and t-shirt and rushed him to the ER. Noah said his arm looked like Harry Potter's arm when the bones are removed...I agree! Sure enough he busted both bones right above the wrist!
They sedated him while they reset the bones. It was pretty creepy because his eyes were still open...I had a hard time watching as two men yanked and pulled his arm to get it into place! Yuck is all I can say!
We are grateful that it was his left arm so that finishing out the remainder of the school year shouldn't be too bad, but it does mean that his baseball season is over. He is the pitcher and sometimes the catcher...nope...that won't be happening anymore...he still plans on suiting up and supporting his team, but he is pretty bummed that he won't be able to play! This might also make swimming lessons tricky if his cast isn't off by the first of June! Oh well...never a dull moment as a momma of 5 kids! I am just so grateful that we were there to take him in. I would have been frantic if I was still on the lake! When I called Travis to let him know what was going on Zach was also listening...I told them that they had to knock Noah out to reset the bones...to which Zach asked: "Did they have to hit him in the head to knock him out?" I got a real good laugh out of that! No...no blow to the head was necessary! ; )
So here I sit still feeling the waves of the lake (seriously I can still feel the boat movement in my head when I hold still...taking a shower was almost comical...) and wondering what is going to happen next! Wish me luck! ; )

oH POOR Noah! It looks like it hurts like crazy! I guess as the kids get bigger....the falls get harder and more hurtful.
I hope he feels relief of pain soon. And it takes a Mommy to be tough too!
I am glad you had a great time at Lake Powell. I feel so badly that Noah had to go through such a painful experience! I am also relieved that if it had to happen, that you both were back!
