food storage...

So my next baking basics food storage focus is: chocolate chips, cocoa, and yeast.

Yeast: 2 jars, or a 1 lb package per family

(I might pick up a little more yeast than this...we go through it pretty fast)
Cocoa: 2 containers per family
Chocolate Chips: 6 bags per family

I can't wait to pick up these items at our new Wal-Mart!! It opens on Wednesday and I am so excited!

that is exciting that your getting a new walmart! It must be close! Yea, and chocolate chips are a necessity in food storage. Way to get the important stuff first! :)

I didn't know they were opening another Wal-Mart out your way. Hopefully the one in AF won't be such a madhouse all the time!! By the way, nice job on your food storage dedication!! I need to follow your example. :) P.S. I notice that Cecily comments on your blog sometimes. Tell her I said Hi will you? :)

I am pretty sure these amounts are not for a 1 year supply. More like 3-6 months for some. These items amounts came from a list I got. It never really specified how long of a supply it was for. I am using it as a way to get some basics. I plan on maintaining these amounts and then doing the list again in the fall.

I buy SAF yeast 2 or 3 packages at a time and store them in the freezer. I understand you can do the same with chocolate chips!
