loosing touch...random thoughts...

Maybe some of you can relate to this... I have lost touch with music! I used to love sitting in my room listening to it. When I started driving I would crank up the music and sing! But as children have entered my life sitting in my room for hours became a thing of the past, and listening to MY music in the car has changed to Disney soundtracks, children's books on CD, and Dora singing songs. I relish any time when I am in the car alone to crank up the music once again and enjoy the beat moving my body. Recently I have a new friend...Pandora Radio. It lets you create customized radio stations and then rate whether you like the songs they choose for you or not. Right now my favorite stations are my Colbie Caillat and OneRepublic ones. Now I sit and blog or check my email to MY music! It is amazing how much adding this element back into my life has made my days more fun and happy!

Also...I have thought of this story often this week. I posted it a few months ago. I just love it!

i went through a similar experience when i realized i only new who my husband and kids liked, but i'm back and reunited with the good stuff. i also lost touch with actually singing ( i used to do recitals and musicals and everything) and i am dying to get back to that. it takes a lot of sacrifices to be a good mom!!

I was thinking this exact thing just today. I miss my music! I miss MY music! I miss the songs that would make me think of Adam and the songs I would hit repeat on over and over in the car! Now, even if VeggieTales isn't on (which it usually is), I don't have time to stop what I'm doing, throw in a CD and push the play button. But it's worth it. I can handle Silly Songs and Disney if it means my kids are happy. One day, I'll have my tunes back again...one day.

I go through dry spells every few months, but I have all these nieces and nephews etc, who are teenagers and they keep me up to date.

Cute quote!!! As for the radio... you're not missing much, all the radio stations play the same lame songs over and over. Pandora is definitely the better way to go anyway!!!!
