the christmas graveyard...

Ever wonder where all the Christmas trees go? Our city has a designated tree dump for about a month after Christmas.

This pile makes me curious and sad all at the same time. Curious because my mind tries to imagine each tree in a home...filled with decorations...surrounded by a family...each tree was the centerpiece of someones Christmas. Then I feel sad...it kinda looks like the island of misfit toys from the movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer...the trees have served their purpose and then are tossed out. No longer needed and wanted.

I am always sad to take our tree down and throw it out...Every time I pass this pile I try to find our tree...our perfect, full, pine smelling tree...I'll be glad when the pile is gone!

That is why we get a fake tree, so no need to through it out and it isn't so sad to take it down.

That is so sweet Heather, but in our city they use the old trees for mulch in the city parks and stuff. So the trees live on!
