Max Bryant Jordan...A Blessing From Heaven

A healthy and beautiful Max Bryant Jordan was born on Monday October 20th at 3:10pm. He was 8 pounds 8 ounces; 19.5 inches long.

Here are a few pictures that tell about our journey...

All started well without any complication. However, once Heather's water broke little Max's heart rate began to rapidly drop without explanation. Heather was whisked away for an emergency c-section. The Doctor's said that we had to get him out very fast. This was a very scary and anxious moment for both Heather and I. Once they took Heather away, I was told that I needed to "hang out" for a minute until given further instruction to join her in the operating room. During that time of solitude, I prayed with all of my soul that Heavenly Father would look over both Heather and Max. I knew that all would be well..

A few minutes later, Mas was "extracted" and he started to cry. I had never been so happy to hear the sound of a baby crying--at that point, we knew that little Max would be OK. The Doctor help up Max's umbilical cord and said, "I think this was the problem." It turns out that he had a "true knot" in his umbilical cord. Once the water broke, and he dropped, the knot tightened and that is when he started to lost oxygen and and his heart rate started to drop. We were brought to tears once we knew that he was going to be OK.

Here is our happy reunion.

I love this picture because I think it displays the true joy that commonly proceeds a trial of faith. He and Heather are absolutely beautiful!

Big cheeks...he is certainly a Jordan!

First bath...

Proud dad with his new little buddy. I have a couple of BYU T-shirts waiting for him when he gets a little older!

Noah, Zach, and Bailey came to visit later that evening. Noah was so anxious to see and hold his new little brother. He will be a big help to Heather as she recovers...

What a day, what a journey. Max is truly a blessing from heaven.

Congratulations!! I am so excited for you guys. Max is so adorable! What a little blessing. My heart started racing for you when I read about the knot in Max's umbilical cord--how scary (another thing I can worry about with my own baby....). I'm grateful that everyone is doing okay now. I'm looking forward to more pictures!!!
